Fall/Winter Fragrances

So, as Winter is coming (Game of thrones refference much?), it's time to change not only our warderobe, but the perfumes we're using. Fall-winter time calls for woody, spicy scents with richer base notes: cinammon, musk, vanilla, caramel, chocolate etc because these scents actually make us feel warmer. Of course, it's a matter of personal preferrence, but here are my picks!

1. Coco Noir: Notes of Indonesian patchouli and sandalwood add the warmth to this scent. If you're a fan of floral orientals, this is the one for you!
2.Gucci Premiere: Warm, woody, musky scent with top notes of bergamot and  orange blossom. Delicate and sophisticated, perfect for nights-out.
3.L'air de Nina Ricci: A spicier, but very light fragrance, perfect for the daytime.  The floral-spicy note of the carnation is in centre of its composition, violet and iris give a powdery nuance, so if you're a fan of more powdery finishes, this is the perfume for you.
4. Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille: On the pricier end, the unisex fragrance by Tom Ford. It's perhaps the most wintery of my picks, as it combines all the warm notes mentioned above: tobacco, cacao, vanilla an woody notes. For the price of about $260, I still think it's worth it, as it would make any woman (or even man) feel extra special!

Don't forget to layer your perfume, as in the winter, the long sleeves and thick sweaters will cover the scent. Or, look for edp versions of perfumes you already wear (or not, you can always try out new ones!), as they have a stronger concentration, and therefore will last longer in winter, with all those layers of clothes!

Hope you like my fall/winter fragrance picks! What are yours?

Fall classics with a twist!

So, it's almost fall time and everybody is raving about this transition, and I decided to list what I think are the fall "classics", that every woman should own, but with a little twist and the latest trends.

1. Knitted dress: It's one of the most important items for the fall, as it can be combined with a denim jacket, a trench coat, high heels , boots, well with pretty much anything. And the one I've chosen is kind of a color-block one from Mango.
2. Slim fit trousers: What are we without a pair of skinny jeans or stretchy trousers? It's just a thing I can't live without, and I think I'm not the only one! The ones I've chosen are from Mango, again. I'm crazy about Mango these days.
3. Sweater: Another classic, but with a bit ot a twist, as it's a little cropped. Crop tops are a big thing this year, and it's only natural I include one i my list! This one's from H&M.
4. Ted Baker bag. Enough said. I love Ted Baker, and when I go to the UK nex year, I swear, my lunch money goes into a Ted Baker fund, I'll buy this!
5. Court shoes: I'm obsessed with court shoes at the moment, especially nude ones. Again, I've chosen a color-block combo, from Karen Millen.
6. Check dress: There's something about checked items that seems autumn-ish to me, maybe it's because of Burberry, maybe it's just me. So, this checked chiffon dress is from Mango, yet again!

Hope you enjoyed my fall classics, what are your own favourites?

My Summer Sum-up!

So, this happens to be my summer sum-up, in a few quite awesome pictures, for one quite awesome summer!

I've been quite busy this summer, with trying to figure out what to do with my life and which UK university to choose, but I had quite the extraordinary time with my friends and family this summer! First, my vacation in Sozopol with my girls and my boyfriend(you can see in the pictures my boyfriend trying to eat me up, he's failing though). We spent the most amazing 5 days there, and I must say I ahve once again rediscovered my love for the seaside. Can you honestly think of something better than burying your toes in the sand and listening to the whisper of the waves? I know I can't.
Next, was my vacation with my parents in a little picturesque SPA resort. It's a place where you can be alone with your thoughts and everything, but it's not really my thing. Anyhow, on our way back we saw some paragliders (second picture), they were flying so low we could hear them talking! It was quite the exciting experience. I've become really fascinated with paragliding, and I'm considering trying it next year, as there's a paragliding school right outside the resort!
I decided to write this little post to keep you up to date with what I've been doin this summer, hope you enjoyed! What have you been up to? If you have a similar post, send me some links :)

Say 'yes' to truly organic beauty!

So, tons of brands are now offering organic cosmetics series, it has become somewhat of a trend in recent years. However, some of them are not purely organic at all, they still put some perservants in them, most of which are bad for your skin. People who have extremely sensitive skin will know what I'm talking about - redness, rashes, itches and such, even after buying the so-called "organics". I'm not saying everything out there labeled "organic" is not, but quite frequently, that's the case.

So, I've come to the conclusion that it is better to make at least some of the skincare/haircare things you use, because you'll be sure of their origins. And for those of you who are a bit lazy, like me, I've found a great Italian organic brand I recently used! I'll do some research and find some more if you're interested. But for now, here are my suggestions for purely organic products!

1. Coconut oil: I'm a huge fan of coconut oil. You can use it for pretty much anything - skincare, haricare, even cooking (only unrefined oil, though), but in my opinion it works best as a hair mask. For long hair, use a tablespoon/teaspoon of it, melt it, then apply it to your hair. Leave it in for an hour or so, you can even sleep with it in your hair for an even deeper repair therapy. It does wonders, I swear. Especially if you have split ends. Also if you have stretch marks, don't spend a ridiculour amount of money on products, treat them with coconut oil twice a day, and they'll be gone in a month or so!
2. Sugar scrubs: These are probably the easiest DIY things ever. This one is an all-natural detoxifying coffee sugar scrub, and it's on sale at Maria's Self store, so you can buy one if you're lazy like me. If not, she has the recepie right here, it's really easy to make, all you need is coffer, brown sugar, cocoa butter, cinnamon and corn starch!
3. L'erbolario: As sceptical as I am towards organic brands, I've tired this one and it's amazing. Everything of theirs smells so good, I've tried their mint shampoo, the whole bathroom smelled like mint for a day! You should try them, I'm linking their UK site!

I hope you enjoyed, if you guys like organic stuff, I'll make another post for essential oils, as I'm crazy about them at the moment! xx

The Cat Trend. Meow!

So, as I was going through H&M's website, I came across an awesome cat sweatshirt. So, I thought to myself "Is this a thing?". Well, for catlovers it's a thing anyway, but apparently it has been a trend recently as I've discovered loads and loads of cat-related stuff ever since. I wasn't much of a catlover before, but my boyfriend has made me into somewhat of a cat-ish person - I'm buying cat sweatshirts, dear god! Anyway, I'm rambling like way too much, so, here's my collection of Cats!

Here I have an awesome collection of kitty sweatshirts, t-shirts etc. And also, some weird stuff I discovered, like a "Cats in space" collection which is as awesome as it is weird! Let's get started!

  1. The first awesome cat items are the ModCloth striped flats. Firts, they are unbelievably cute, and second they look so comfy, that I want to put them on right now. I love the design, it's unique, and I guarantee you won't be seeing anyone with flats like yours.
  2. The second thing is a baggy sweatshirt from H&M with a huuuge cat print. It needs no explanation.
  3. I'll combine the "Cats in space" things in one. They are from a Cropp Town collection, and I must admit those are the weirdest, most extraordinary prins ever. They have a whole range of space stuff, T-shirts, scarves, purses, bags etc. I'm linkng you to their facebook page, because I coulnd't find it on their website.
  4. Another pair of cat flats. These are a bit on the expensive side, but as they are  creaticely designed, I couldn't help but put them in here. They have little cat ears, aww.
  5. And for the last pick - you might be wondering why I chose cateye sunglasses. Well, because the cat trend is so wide in its variety. Those glasses are from Stella McCartney, and for me, they are the most distinguished and loved item of the bunch.
So, I hope there are some crazy cat ladies among you, girls, who will enjoy this post! Are you fans of the cat trend, and would you buy any of these items?

Catrice Infinite Shine Lip Gloss Review

So, yesterday I purchased Catrice's Infinite Shine Gloss as I wanted to shift from the matte lipglosses I've been using recently. I switched from an Avon Colortrend matte gloss in the color Bliss, but I found it so boring and dull. And I stumbled upon this really shiny gloss and I bought it in an instant. And now, I'm gonna share with you what I think about it!

Price: Extremely reasonable. It was about $4 (as I'm converting it from BGN, I can't be quite sure), which for a lipgloss is surprisingly cheap. Also, I'm satisfied with the size of 6.0 ml. It looks like it's going to last me a long time.
Application: The aplicator is very soft and precise, it's extremely easy to apply evenly, and even if you make a mistake you can easily remove it from around your lips.
Color and texture: I bought mine in "Peach on the beach" (I think they copied that from Bourjois, but still it's a very cute name for a color!) It's not bright at all, just gives your lips a slight tint. The texture is not sticky at all, just like they promise in the description. The "Infinite Shine" part, however is not entirely true, as the shine lasts for about an hour.
Overall results: I'm very satisfied with the quality of this product, as it is rather cheap for a lipgloss, but still, it lasts longer than I expected, the texture is very pleasant and not annoyingly sticky at all. And I forgot to mention that it smells incredible - a bit like a vanilla cupcake, haha. So to sum up I'll be buying it again!

Hope you found it helpful! xx Do you prefet matte of shiny lipglosses? What's your favourite gloss at the moment?

The best vacation ever, in pictures!

Hey again! As you probably already know from previous posts, I recently went on holiday, and now I have decided to share some of the awesomeness with you guys. I love photography, but unfortunately I don't have a professional camera, so the pictures are from my lovely friend Deni's Canon EOS 70D. Enjoy, they are really brathtaking!

Sunrise, captured from the train. Pretty!
Sunset on Golden Fish beach
A flock of seagulls, awesome!
Us, having some beach fun xD

Unfortunately, we had a terrible start to our journey - the worst train-ride ever. Thirteen hours in the crappiest train imaginable, such bad luck :/. Anyhow, it was worth it, because the seaside is sooo astonishingly beautiful, it's the greatest feeling to just stand there and stare at the horizon, arr! xD Besides, Bulgarian seaside resorts are a great destination, a mixture of culture, history, clear water and hot sand... Dreamy! Especially Sozopol,(the resort where we stayed) particularly because there's so much to do - we went to some rock clubs, bars, pubs, even a Chinese restaurant and really had a blast! Overall, best vacation. Ever.

To any of you who don't know anything about Bulgaira , check this out, it's definitely worth it :).

Hope you enjoyed the pictures! xx

Vintage envelope purse and handmade earrings!

So, recently I went to Sozopol, a beautiful Bulgarian seaside resort, and of course, I spent some money (a lot, really, but I like things that are on of a kind) on some vintage/handmade things I'd like to share with you!

If you, like me, are extremely fond of uniquie, one-of-a-kind stuff, then you will like these:

The little envelope purse I got from a gallery called Cat&Cat, it has very intriguing prints on the outside, and the inside pattern is checked in blue and white like the tiny little lable on the side. The minute I saw it, I fell in love with it. It has a cute dedications "To only you, feel free to fly", and "Wings of desire" and as I like things that send a message, this is what made me buy it in the first place. It can be use as a phone case, because its fluffy on the inside, and that's how I'll be using it!
I looked thoroughly all over the internet to find a similar purse, and I did, for you guys!

The handmade earrings were a gift from my boyfriend, yey, and they are form a handmade/vintage  shop called Munisto. Munisto is a Bulgarian thing, but I believe they ship internationally, so check them out, they have really complex and original designs. If I could, I'd buy their entire collection, but I'll have to live with just these earrings. I really like dangling earrinngs, and this desingn in particular is great because the earrings have that brassy finish, which makes them look old and vintagy.

I really hope you' enjoyed this post, guys! xx

The Great Gatsby looks - in love with the past

It was only yesterday that I saw, The Great Gatsby. I know, I'm a little late, haha. But that is not important - the important thing is the ideas and the style-inspiration the film brings about.

The sequinted flapper dresses describe the 1920s fashionwise. When you move, the dress moves with you, and since they did a lot of dancing, it was a really spectacular thing to see. This all screams "Glamour!", and that's what the era is all about. Glamour. Sparkling headbands, sparkling dresses and shoes, luxe, and the desire to have it all.
The dresses I've chosen, are in my opinion, the contemporary version of Dasy Buchanan's warderobe. The film has inspired so many young women to bring back the freedom, glamour and the entire spirit of the era just by putting on a dress. So here are my choises.
1. A flapper dress with a dropped waist. In a way, it expresses the femininity - the colours and the silhouette are both very girly, and not too bold.
2. Nude sequin embellished dress from Dorothy Perkins. This one is a little more extravagant and sparkly, but still feminine enough.
3. And the boldest of them all - the ultimate flapper dress - ever so glamorous, sparkling, with the typical 1920s flapper style patters - the Jigsaw Sequin Flapper Dress.

I hope this Great Gatsby trend inspired you to experiment, and buy some 1920's-like items! What do you think of the trend?

HOTD: Gorgeous, loose French braid

You guessed it, it's another HOTD post! This time, it's a loose French braid! The pictures were taken at 1:00 in the morning, so excuse the darkness all around her, haha.

This is a great messy, beachy look (we were on vacation at the seaside, expect some pictures soon!). It can be worn on one side, and it looks just as great. If you have sideswept bangs like Damyana , you have two options:
1: You can leave it (like in the first picture), for a more casual, laid-back look.
2. You can pin back it to create a more formalish look, or gently backcomb it and then pin it for a more voluminous finish.
The French braid is perhaps the most popular type of braid, but if any of you girls struggle with it, this awesome youtube video explains it all. Remember, practice makes perfect! To create "the loose effect" just pull lightly at the braid, or just start braiding more loosely wherever you consider you need to.

Hope you liked it! Which type of braid is your favourite and which one do you find is the easiest to do?

The "20 random facts about me" tag!

I recently got inspired by another fellow blogger to do the "20 facts about me" tag. As I have been blogging for almost a month now, it seems only natural that you get to know me a little bit. Let's get started!

  1. I'm short. Like, really short. I'm 1.55m, but I like my size, petit girls all the way!
  2. My name is Hristina, but I got nicknamed Misty like forever ago, and it stuck until now. I got used to it, so I decided to include it in my blog name!
  3. I got inspired by Zoella (I suppose you already know who she is, but here's a link to her blog) to start blogging.
  4. I'm a dog person. I loooove beagles and corgis. Send me a cute picture of one and I'll love you forever.
  5. I first got on an airplane (a military one, not an AirBus or something) at the age of six. Scary.
  6. I hate long walks and hikes. It sounds silly but for me, it's like torture, especially if it takes more than an hour or two.
  7. I like high heels. I know it's bad for my feet, but I do.
  8. I used to hate short hair, but my hairdresser cut my hair really short. Now, I'm forced to love it, haha.
  9. I laugh in my sleep.
  10. I've never worked in my life (except for the time when me & my friend got paid to sit around in caffees all day, litterally)
  11. I hate my nose. I think it's too big for my face.
  12. I hate cigarettes, I have never smoked, and I have a "no smoking" propaganda. Yep.
  13. My dream is to go to university in England (Leeds, or Bath, probably), to study French.
  14. I f-ing HATE trains. Don't ask xD.
  15. I like Assassin's creed, I have played the entire Assassin's creed II, started the first one and I love them.
  16. I am now addicted to Twitter, and I am ashamed of this :/.
  17. When I'm sad, discouraged, or just Monday, I watch this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7uUlOAyQsn4
  18. I can start crying really easily. It's almost like in the movies, haha.
  19. I can ramble on and on, and on.. But you have to get to know me first.
  20.  I was crazy about the "Don't starve" game and have reached day 25! Success!

I hope I didn't bore you to death, but that's me! If you have such posts, send them over! Enjoy xx.

HOTD: Bright, bright red; Dyed hair tips and tricks.

I don't know about you, but I have never dyed my hair (except for some highlights a looong time ago). I have a very irrational fear of doing so. Cowardly, I know :/. However, as I am crazy about redheads, and I haven't done a HOTD post in a long time, thanks to my friend Polly, I'll be introducing you to Garnier's Color Sensation hairdye a HOTD, and some at-home hairdying tips and tricks!

The Garnier Color Sensation series are not ammonia free, which promises a longer-lasting color, and better coverage. They does a good job even for very fair hair - the Intense Ruby one was applied onto light blonde hair, and the results were a very bright red and excellent coverage. However, if you have damaged hair, I'd reccomend ammonia-free hairdye for less damage.

These are the bright, bright red results! Shiny and healthy looking dyed hair like this, however, requires a lot of care and pamperig, if you will. I've done some research and asked around my girls who dye their hair and here are some useful tips and tricks:

1. Use haircare products for dyed hair, many people neglect that, but they do make a difference. If you're blonde, using purple shampoo is great for toning the haircolor and knocking out the brassy tones. The Lee Stafford one is great!
2. If you're dying your hair at home and not at a salon, make sure you apply some vaseline around your forehead and ears to avoid dye-stains on your face! Pretty handy trick.
3. If you get split ends, or dry straw-like hair use coconut oil masks, they work wonders! Or, buy a jar of unrefined coconut oil, melt some and leave it in for 15-20 minutes. I hear Nutiva's coconut oil is of pretty nice quality, give it a try.
4. Use masks that preserve the color of your dyed hair. This way, it lasts much longer and you get the "salon" look. Garnier have a great range of dyed hair masks and conditioners!

I hope you found this useful, and if you have any tips and tricks, or favorite hairdye brands, feel free to share! xx

The Liebster award!

So, I'm very proud to say that the wonderful creator of Beauty chokes has nominated me for the Liebster award. As you probably know it's a way for bloggers with less than 200 followers to connect, get more follows, sort of "spread the word" and feel like a part of this lovely little blogging world!

So, I've been nominated another three times for the award! I can't say how extremely flattered I am. So spread the love to my lovely nominators - Bambi's Journal, Lola's Patchwork, and Nadine Heather! A BIG thank you, girls, it means the world to me!

The rules are:
  1. You have to answer the 10 questions that your nominator gave you
  2. You then have to nominate 10 bloggers who have under 200 followers and link them in the post
  3. Come up with 10 new questions for the nominees to answer
  4. Finally, inform the nominees so they can do their responses

So, here are the answers to Beauty chokes's questions:

High-tech fashion? #4: Neon-glow leggings

This fashion finding is not as high-tech as the other ones I've presented to you guys, but still, I think it's worth the attention we're about to give it!

Nice leggings, huh? Great, extra-creative and eye-cathing bone print. But it's not just that. Wait 'till you see them under a black light!

Boom. Bright neon-colored bones we got there! So, these leggings by BlackMilk incorporate a special neon-ink technology that allows you to basically glow in the dark! How cool is that? They come in yellow, orange and pink, so you can glow in any color, haha. "We love this print so much we made it yellow and printed it using a neon ink that goes absolutely ballistic under a black light. We felt it was a logical step.", say the creators ar BlackMilk. They are apparently made of some extremely stretchy polyester that fits yor body perfectly, which would encourage you to stay fit if you buy these, so here's to another pro of the glowing leggings. Unfortunately, they seem to be out of stock at the moment, but I'd wait for them to com back!
Like every other high-techy fashion find, it might not be everybody's cup of tea. However, how cool would this look on the dancefloor! Hope you like it, guys! xx
